Description
This awesome 3-disc collection features more than four hours of on-bike footage shot during the 2009 Isle of Man TT, letting you ride the legendary 37.73-miles of public highway at speeds of more than 190mph alongside some of the greatest riders on Earth.
Volume One features four great laps of the M TT Course recorded during Practice Week
2009. Bathed in beautiful sunshine all week and with the most impressive entry of
international riders and machines seen in years, lap speeds were expected to
rise during practice for TT2009 and we were not disappointed! Thanks to the wonders of modern technology deployed by producers North One,
we present no less than 4 mind-boggling laps in high quality video for you to
enjoy time and again from the comfort and safety of your favourite armchair. You
may not believe it, but we confirm that none of these recordings have been
speeded up – they’re 100% real.
First we have a rare and quite special lap with TT legend John McGuinness at
an average speed of over 128mph. The camera looks back at John’s every move as
the scenery whizzes past at up to 191mph. It’s mesmerising stuff. Just watch for
the walls at Handley’s Corner and the sheer pounding he takes from the many
crests and dips. Next is Steve Plater’s 128.9mph lap on the Thursday of Practice Week. This is
terrifyingly fast, rider’s-eye-view magic from a rider who just gets quicker and
quicker at the TT. Probably the most impressive lap recorded to date at the
TT. Then World Sidecar Champion Tim Reeves lets us have the passenger-eye-view on
a lap in perfect conditions. Tim and Patrick Farrance have certainly learnt how
to ride the World’s most challenging circuit in fast and fine style. Finally Guy Martin shows us how he does a 128.8mph lap with a camera facing
forward and mounted low on the bike. Also recorded during Thursday Practice, you
can check out the full suspension movement as the bike skims over the white
lines at race-winning speed.
Volume Two is loaded with race action. First up is Guy Martin on lap four of the Dainese Superbike TT. The
low-mounted, forward facing camera shows the 1000cc Hydrex Honda’s suspension
hard at work as Martin laps at an incredible 127.685mph on his way to third
place. Next we ride with sidecar legend Dave Molyneux as he races to victory, and
into the record books, during Sure Sidecar Race 1. The forward-facing camera is
mounted low on the DMR Suzuki outfit, letting you share Moly’s view as he laps
at 115.040mph. This is awe-inspiring stuff, showing the skill and bravery it
takes to go sidecar racing.
A rear-facing camera on Ian Hutchinson’s 600cc Padgetts Honda gives a rare
view of the course at an incredible 125.726mph! Experience every bump the back
wheel hits, and every slide, as you join Hutchy on the last lap of Relentless
Supersport Race 1, and witness the incredible closing speed of Bruce Anstey’s
TAS Suzuki during the nip and tuck battle between the pair. Our final race lap
is with Carl Rennie during the Royal London 360 Superstock Race as he blasts
around the course on his 1000cc Suzuki at a staggering 125.73mph on the first
lap.
Plus, we have a world first - the DVD debut of on-board lap of the TT course
by an electric-powered bike. Join Thomas Montano during practice for TTXGP, the
inaugural race for clean emissions motorcycles, at an impressive average lap
speed of 67.043mph. The forward-facing camera lets you share this historic lap -
and the very first electric motorcycle spill at the TT!
Volume Three features three complete on-bike laps of the legendary Mountain
Course recorded during the record-breaking 2009 TT, plus a complete on board
race from Billown.
First up is TT legend John McGuinness, putting his HM Plant Honda Supersport
bike through its paces in practice. The camera is positioned on the back of the
600cc machine, showing the outright lap record holder jumping out of his seat on
the bumps and leaning into each of the hundreds of bends. You’ll see exactly how
close the riders get to the scenery – you’d swear he’s scraping the hedges
between Glen Helen and Cronk-Y-Voddy, and his bounce through Barregarrow will
have you leaping out of your seat! Gary Johnson had the honour of leading away the Dainese Superbike race, and
the footage captured by the rear-facing camera lets you see his 1000cc Uel
Duncan Honda bucking and sliding as he races into lap one. Just 10 seconds
later, McGuinness was off and by Ballaugh he’s with Johnson – this jaw-dropping
footage lets you share the pressure of having the TT’s fastest man bearing down
on you.
The ever determined Guy Martin is our guide to a lap of the Pokerstars Senior
TT, the camera mounted low on the left-hand side of the Hydrex Honda Superbike.
You’ll witness Martin’s incredible precision as he guides the 1000cc missile
around the lap, just inches from the kerbs. The speed he catches, and passes, a
rival shows just how committed Martin is. Finally, we bring you a complete TT race from on board! The 4.25-mile Billown
circuit hosted the Lightweight 250cc TT, and we experience all eight laps of one
race courtesy of Barry Davidson. The rear-facing camera brings you the mass
start and some truly nail-biting passes.
