Description
This DVD is the story of the 2009
International Six Days Enduro in Figuera da Foz Portugal held in October 2009. The ISDE is a contest of man and machine
against the terrain and the clock. The first ISDE as held in England in 1917
to prove the reliability of motorcycles over long and challenging rides.
The film features Team USA against the
world as their riders cover the six days of off-road competition through the Portuguese
countryside. They have to stay on a demanding schedule and each rider does
their own maintenance including daily tire changes.
In addition to team USA there is coverage of all the major teams and
riders including David Knight, Paul Edmundson, and Tom Sagar of the UK. Juha Salminen and Samuli Aro of Finland, and the amazing teams from France, and Italy.
The terrain in this part of Portugal covers
from deep sand on the beaches to steep rocky hills to the endless pine barrens
with even more sand. The final day’s
motocross on the Portuguese MX GP circuit illustrates just how fast these
competitors can be even after 6 days of riding.
This is a 2
disc set with shot in HD. Narration is by noted motorsports announcer,
and Motorcycle Hall of Fame member Larry Huffman.
