The Jaguar XJ220 spearheaded Britain's entry into the world of supercars, previously dominated by Italian stylists and engineers. The showcar prototype caused a sensation when it appeared at the British Motor Show in 1988 creating a wave of public interest that led inevitably to the decision to go into production. The latest race-car technology was added to enhancing Jaguar's reputation for speed with style. And what speed! With over 500 bhp on tap, the XJ220 soon took its place as the world's fastest production road car. 

This t-shirt is a celebration of Britain's first Supercar and our design marks the XJ220's record-breaking achievement at the famous Nardò Ring test track in Italy, where the standard car managed a top speed of 212.3 mph around the nearly 8-mile concrete ring, making it the fastest production car in the world from 1992 to 1993. (*The car did later achieve 217.1 mph but this was without catalytic converters and with a raised rev limit).
